A complete meal for one person

Simple Simon, Bernard Alessi wanted to create a perfect pie. It was to have a pleasing shape, be encased in puff pastry, as healthy a meal as possible, a complete meal for one person.

Simple Simon's Perfect Pies are designed to be a complete meal for one with a base of steamed shredded potato and 125g filling on top. There are 36 different varieties, including Organic Aberdeen Angus Beef, casseroled with red wine and mushrooms, set on potato. Pastry's light and crisp, our ingredients are top quality and locally sourced.

He would use only the freshest and finest ingredients and source as many of them as possible locally. The pies have a base of 65g shredded steamed Rooster potatoes topped with 125g the main ingredient.

Aberdeen Angus Beef comes from Blackmount Organics as does the organic Lamb, Mutton and Pork. The animals are reared at Easton Organic Farm just outside Edinburgh. Game, including our delicious wild venison comes from Highland Game in the north of Scotland.

Gold in the British Pie Awards 2010 for Chicken pie with Durham Cow Blue Cheese, Soft Green Peppercorns and Grapes.

2 gold stars in the Great Taste Awards 2009 for Salmon pie with Broccoli, horseradish and pink peppercorns.

1 gold star in the Great Taste Awards 2009 for Organic Lamb pie with apple and mint jelly.

1 gold star in the Great Taste Awards 2008 for Butterbean and Brie pie.
