The Food Company was founded in 2000 as an alternative shopping destination to the increasingly oppressive supermarket chains. The disappearance of independent butchers,fishmongers,bakers etc from British high streets was making it impossible to buy really fresh food. 

We aim to bring our customers the very highest quality and widest choice of fresh food and fine groceries as well as an unrivalled range of luxury homewares and most recently designer furniture. Our butchers source all of their meat from British farms all of whom breed their livestock to the highest welfare standards and all of which is traceable back to its roots. Likewise our fishmongers buy their daily catch from Channel Fisheries in Brixham, who have been awarded the Royal Warrant for quality. 

Our cafe was set up as a place to meet, enjoy a coffee and sample some of the finest ingredients from our counters. Today we are proud of our well established 60 seater restaurant and downstairs cafe and have a reputation for uncomplicated menus, preferring to place the emphasis on the fantastic ingredients we have at our disposal. 

We are always evolving, exploring new ideas, experimenting with new recipes and products, so if you are looking for some inspiration for entertaining or just everyday cooking, The Food Company is the right place for you.
